Entergy Wraps Up Nate Response

Share
Sunday, October 08, 2017

At Entergy, we prepare for storms year round. While Hurricane Nate did not have a significant impact to our system, our crews were ready for the worst. Nate caused scattered outages in southeast Louisiana, and Entergy workers responded to restore power safely and quickly.

We urge our customers to remain safe. There is no way to know if a downed line is energized or not, so if you see one, keep your distance and call 1-800-9OUTAGE (800-968-8243). Stay away from standing water and debris from trees and other vegetation that could be electrically charged from underground or downed power lines.

Customers who sustained damage to their facilities will need repairs made by an electrician and obtain the proper permits before power can be reconnected. If customers have completed all necessary repairs to their electrical equipment and obtained the proper permits, please call 1-800-368-3749 to request a service reconnection order.

We have started releasing the 1,800-member restoration workforce and are coordinating with other utilities more affected by Nate that may need extra help in their recovery.

We’d like to thank our customers, local, state and federal agencies for their cooperation as we prepared for Nate and responded to any service interruptions. We’d also like to thank our sister companies in Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi for providing assistance throughout the weather event.
